For some totally inexplicable reason, there seemed to be a consiracy among tourist bureaus, travel writers, and other guides to keep this knowledge securely buried. It's as if they felt that once the word got around that Greece might have something to offer besides ruins, tourists would desert the country in droves because they felt it might be like any other country. Well, Greece is not like any other country - but nor does its sole attraction lie in history...."
